We work with the purpose of transforming the lives of underprivileged students, mainly from the ravine of Zone 5 in Guatemala City, by providing them with CARE, STIMULATION, NUTRITION, and EDUCATION.

To be a sustainable social entity, nationally recognized for its programs and suitable care models for underprivileged students in Guatemala City, through the implementation of innovative programs with high-quality standards.

We work to support parents with limited economic resources in Guatemala City, in the care, stimulation, nutrition, and education of their children, aiming to maintain family unity.

The Center was initiated by the Javier Alejos Foundation with the support of AMBI
to work for the children in Guatemala, initially serving a group of 12 children.

FUNDACIÓN COMETA
JOINS

The project, providing support in the administration and part of the sustainability of
the Nuestra Sagrada Familia Center. By the end of the year, 59 children were
enrolled. AMBI withdrew in 2012.

SCHOLARSHIP
PROGRAM

We formalized the school scholarship program in private schools, benefiting 40 scholarship recipients who are part of the 90 minors enrolled in the Center.

+100 CHILDREN
SERVED

And 45 school scholarships were awarded, benefiting a community of over 350 people in Zone 5. Fifth edition of 5k and 10K “Educate and Change Lives”. We had a total of 8.

REINVENTING OURSELVES
DURING THE PANDEMIC

We redirected our efforts, providing virtual support to 57 scholarship recipients in private schools and 14 preschool children, out of the 118 initial enrolled.

SUPPORT FOR
CHILDREN AND FAMILIES

Continued virtual educational support for elementary and high school students. Nutritional support and pediatric care for 23 students under 4 years of age.

SUPPORT FOR

Monthly food distribution to our families based on individual needs. Emotional support for our students and their parents in the face of pandemic-related challenges.

HYBRID
REOPENING

Supporting 90 students, both virtually and in-person. Assistance for 8 mothers who are studying elementary school. 215 annual hours dedicated to volunteering.

SCHOLARSHIP PROGRAM

We have had a positive impact on over 120 student beneficiaries, granting more than 605 school scholarships since 2011. These scholarships cover enrollment fees, monthly tuition, school supplies, uniforms, transportation, educational support (tutoring), internet service, and meals.

EMPOWERMENT

We provide tools to enhance the self-confidence and self-esteem of students, as well as to improve their inner dialogue-key elements for them to build a better future for themselves.

When enrolling our students in a private school, we ensure that they reach levels of excellence in their education, reducing the rate of academic poverty.
